I think at this point GenZ has mastered in heartbreaks, every third person you meet has been heart broken or broken someone else’s heart. “tumhari generation Mei too sabka dil tuna hai”..is this true? no one broke hearts before 1990s? Can we be for once be honest , this generation lowkey never actually breaks up. You may not see them in real life but on social media , you follow every story. There’s no final conversation, no final goodbyes just silence and delayed replies. Someone is either cheating or being cheated on , that I’ll accept is common with our generation. One day they are your safe space your strength the name that comes to your mind when things haywire next day it’s the name you are drowning in a bottle of vodka ( tears for the non alcoholics ). Do we ever even get closure? to why everything even happened , we are just left with the constant urge to reach out and unanswered questions. Genz doesn’t fall out of love loudly they do it while pretending everything is fine. Honestly, helps us reach a conclusion that not every connection is meant to last , the world is a spectrum of people and maybe at eighteen we don’t realise how much life has to offer and how many people we are yet supposed to meet, im eighteen too and I lost people I never thought I would but it is what it is. “Why did that person leave me” are you so sure you never made any mistakes? many times we are left sitting with regret of everything we didn’t do but again a question arises that eighteen are we supposed to do so much for someone? do relationships really matter at eighteen? so many questions so much confused. More than screwed up we are a confused generation honestly. At any point we feel any connection getting too real we run away why? because the last one traumatised us beyond repair. Just because of the way the last one ended we often end up ruining our current ones and screw with another person’s mental health and cycle goes on. Is there scope honestly? To find someone and have that happily ever after like will we ever we able to tell our kids that I met your mother/father ten years ago? was the concept of arranged marriage correct because how do we get people who never hurt us and plan a happy future , but again are we even supposed to plan a happy ever after at eighteen , who cares if we were supposed to break up anyways.
